http://www.thinkquest.org/web/wsftp.html
http://www.thinkquest.org/web/ftp.html
Ricordo in italiano alcune operazioni base.
vostro browser il Vostro lavoro all'indirizzo:
http://dev99.advanced.org/team_id
mettendo l'identificativo del Vostro Team.
Saluti ed in bocca al lupo.
Giuseppe

Uploading
This document can be used for ThinkQuest and ThinkQuest Junior teams - please note
however, the following:
ThinkQuest
ThinkQuest 99 teams should use dev99.advanced.org as the host name instead of
hyperion.advanced.org which is printed in the examples that follow.
ThinkQuest Junior
ThinkQuest Junior teams should use tqjunior.advanced.org as the host name instead of
hyperion.advanced.org - additionally, ThinkQuest Junior teams using FrontPage may use the
"publish" feature to upload their entry.
Step by Step examples are available showing screen captures when using WS_FTP LE on a
PC and Fetch on a Macintosh generic instructions are given below.
The Basic Steps
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is the method that you will use to upload your files to
the ThinkQuest server. You should begin uploading as soon as possible to test your links,
images, scripts and other files.
Install an FTP client program for your computer platform. You will find links to some
popular FTP programs below.
Once you are on-line, open a connection to
hyperion.advanced.org
[note: make sure to choose the correct server based on the contest/year that you are
entrering]
You will need a username and a password to log on to the server.
Your username is your team number; your password is the same as the one used on your
Application Form.
NOTE: Your password is case sensitive, so B8kxx5 is NOT the same as b8kxx5 or B8KXX5 -
these are three separate passwords.
You will be logged into your top directory for the web server and will see the
subdirectories that we have set up for you.
Once inside the directory, you can upload your file(s) into the appropriate folder.
(Please note: HTML files, Perl Scripts and Source Code files should be transferred using
"ASCII" or "text" mode, while GIF/JPG's and compiled binaries should
be transferred using BINARY mode. For Mac-based Fetch users you will need to transfer any
images--GIF's and JPEG's-- as RAW DATA.)
Use your web browser to see your entry. It will be at
http://hyperion.advanced.org/team_id
[note: make sure to choose the correct server based on the contest/year that you are
entrering] If you want to make changes, you can make changes to the files on your local
machine and upload them to the ThinkQuest Test Server again - uploading a new version of
the a file with the same name writes over the previous version.
Telnet access to the Test System is also provided. Simply open a telnet connection to
hyperion.advanced.org
[note: make sure to choose the correct server based on the contest/year that you are
entrering]
